Terms of Use

These terms cover OOMU Academy: this website and the course site where you take courses. By using either, you agree to them.

1. Who we are

OOMU Academy is operated by Eldris ("Eldris," "we," "us," or "our"). It includes this website at oomu.io and the course site at academy.oomu.io (together, the "Academy"). By using the Academy, you agree to these Terms of Use and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the Academy.

2. What the Academy is

The Academy offers short courses that teach people to use AI tools for everyday tasks. Courses listed as free are free to take. We may add, change, or remove courses, lessons, and features at any time. Courses described as "coming soon" are plans, not promises.

3. Your account

To take courses and earn certificates, you create an account. You agree to:

  • Give your real name and an email address you control.
  • Keep your password private, and use your account only for yourself.
  • Tell us at support@oomu.io if you think someone else has used it.

You must be at least 16 years old, or have a parent's or guardian's permission, to create an account. You can ask us to delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms.

4. Course materials

Lessons, videos, quizzes, practice files, and other course materials belong to Eldris or the people who license them to us. You may use them to learn, for yourself and in your own work. You may also copy and adapt the checklists and request sheets we provide as downloads for your own work.

Without our written permission, please don't republish, sell, or charge for our course materials, or present them as your own teaching.

The people, businesses, numbers, and situations in our practice examples are made up. Any resemblance to real ones is a coincidence.

5. Certificates

When you complete a course, you may receive a certificate. It shows that you finished an OOMU Academy course. It is not academic credit, a degree, an accreditation, a license, or a professional qualification, and it isn't issued or endorsed by any school or university.

We may withdraw a certificate that was earned by breaking these terms, for example by using someone else's account.

6. AI tools from other companies

Our courses ask you to use AI tools made by other companies, such as Google's Gemini. Those tools are not part of the Academy. Your use of them is governed by those companies' own terms and privacy policies, and you may need your own account with them. We don't control those tools, and they can change, limit, or stop their free versions at any time.

Only paste information into an AI tool that you are allowed to share. When in doubt, use the made-up examples in our courses.

7. AI output and advice

AI tools can be wrong, incomplete, or made up, even when they sound sure. That's why our courses teach you to check what AI gives you. You are responsible for reviewing anything you create with AI before you rely on it or send it to anyone.

Our courses teach general skills. They are not legal, financial, tax, medical, or other professional advice. For decisions that need that advice, ask a qualified professional.

8. Acceptable use

Please don't:

  • Try to disrupt, break into, or overload the Academy.
  • Access it through automated or unauthorized means, or scrape it.
  • Share your account, or use someone else's.
  • Use the Academy to break any law or anyone's rights.

9. Trademarks

The Academy's content and design, and the OOMU name and logo, are owned by or licensed to Eldris and protected by intellectual-property laws. OOMU® is a registered trademark of Eldris. Other names and trademarks, such as Gemini or ChatGPT, belong to their owners. We mention them only to describe tools you can use; they don't sponsor or endorse the Academy.

10. Links to other sites

The Academy links to other sites and services. We don't control them and aren't responsible for their content or practices. Your use of them is governed by their own terms.

11. Disclaimers

The Academy is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, and non-infringement. We don't promise that the Academy will always be available or error-free, that the information in it is complete or current, or that taking a course will lead to any particular result.

12. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Eldris will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising out of or relating to your use of the Academy or of any AI tool used during a course.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which Eldris is established, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. You agree that any dispute relating to the Academy will be subject to that governing law.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we'll change the effective date above. If you keep using the Academy after a change, you accept the updated Terms.
