Privacy Policy
The OOMU Marketplace is operated by Eldris, the maker of OOMU®. This policy explains, in plain language, what information the marketplace collects, why, and the limits we put on ourselves.
The short version
We collect what's needed to run a marketplace: your account details, the mods you publish or buy, and basic usage analytics. We use Stripe to process payments and Mailjet to send email. We never sell, rent, or trade your information, and we never use it for advertising.
Who we are
This marketplace is operated by Eldris ("Eldris," "we," "us," or "our"), the maker of OOMU. If you have any question about this policy or your information, contact us at support@oomu.io.
Information we collect
Account information
To create an account you give us an email address, a display name, and a password (which we store only as a salted cryptographic hash, so we never see or keep your actual password). If you apply to the developer program, we also keep the optional note you write about what you plan to build.
Mods and content you submit
When you publish a mod we store what you provide: its name, description, category, price, version history, changelog, and the package files you upload. Uploaded packages are held so we can review them and so buyers can download them.
Purchases and payouts
Payments are handled by Stripe. When you buy a mod, or when you connect a payout account as a developer, your card and identity details go directly to Stripe. They do not pass through or get stored on our servers. We keep a record of each transaction (the mod, the amount, our fee, and Stripe's reference IDs) to fulfil orders, pay developers, handle refunds, and meet our tax and accounting obligations.
Information collected automatically
Like most sites, we use Google Analytics, which sets cookies and collects standard, largely aggregate information such as the pages you visit, your device and browser type, approximate location (from IP address), and how you reached the site. We also record download counts, keep short-lived logs, and note the IP address of sign-in and sign-up attempts to rate-limit abuse. A single essential cookie keeps you signed in.
How we use information
- To operate your account and keep you signed in.
- To review, publish, host, and deliver mods.
- To process purchases, pay developers their share, and handle refunds.
- To send transactional email: verification links, application decisions, and moderation notices.
- To understand how the marketplace is used and make it better.
- To protect the marketplace from fraud, abuse, and security threats.
That is the complete list. We do not use your information for any other purpose.
What we never do
- We never sell, rent, or trade your personal information to anyone.
- We never use your email for advertising or send you unrelated marketing.
- We never share your information except with the limited service providers below, or where required by law.
Service providers
We rely on a small number of trusted providers to operate the marketplace:
- Stripe, Inc.: payment processing and developer payouts. Your payment and identity details are handled by Stripe under its own Privacy Policy.
- Mailjet (Sinch): delivery of transactional email such as verification links and account notices.
- Google LLC: Google Analytics for site usage. See Google's Privacy Policy.
These providers may process data in the United States.
Cookies and how to opt out
We use one essential cookie to keep you signed in, and cookies set by Google Analytics for the purpose described above. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. Analytics is optional; the sign-in cookie is required to use an account.
How long we keep information
We keep your account and the mods you publish for as long as your account is active. We keep transaction records for as long as needed to meet legal, tax, and accounting requirements, even after an account closes. If you close your account, we delete or anonymize personal information that we are not required to retain.
Your rights
You can ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, or to stop contacting you, at any time. If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom (GDPR / UK GDPR), or in California (CCPA/CPRA), you have these and related rights, including the right to object to processing and to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority. To exercise any right, email support@oomu.io and we'll respond. We do not sell personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of in that respect.
Children
The marketplace is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
International visitors
We are based in the United States, and your information may be processed there. By using the marketplace you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States.
Changes to this policy
If we update this policy, we will change the effective date above. Material changes will be made clear on this page.
